Brian Wilson was the visionary behind the sound of The Beach Boys. And I knew the moment that he passed away that I wanted to create a portrait piece honoring him.

​

For me, Brian Wilson represented what a young genius was capable of creatively. He also symbolized someone that shined a bright light on the stigma of mental health. I would say arguably this work to share his unique journey mentally is just as important as his musical legacy. He was a complex man, and many of the greats are. And like the best artists, he shared his humanity in a very honest way.​
